People: Joe Amabile Trains for the NYC Marathon After August Brain Surgery

Bachelor alum Joe Amabile plans to run the November 1 New York City Marathon about three months after surgery to remove a brain tumor, People reported.

The caveats

Amabile, 40, had surgery on August 6 for a low grade astrocytoma, and he admitted to People that his first three mile run after being cleared was probably more than his doctors had in mind. He has since cut back on long runs and added rest days.

The goal

He told People he will "run slow," and that if it gets too hard, "it's okay to stop." Which is, for a marathon, a refreshingly honest training plan.
